Hanuman Chalisa is a poetic work [2] in which the qualities and actions of Hanuman ji, a great devotee of Lord Shri Ram, are described in forty quatrains. This is a very short composition in which Lord Hanuman, the son of wind, has been beautifully praised. In this, not only is there emotional worship of Bajrangbali ji, the personality of Lord Shri Ram has also been depicted in simple words. The word 'Chalisa' means 'forty' (40) because this hymn has 40 verses (except the 2 couplets of introduction)
